Smartlands Platform Brings Security Tokens To The European Crowdfunding Network (ECN)

As of June 19th 2019, UK-based security token platform Smartlands has officially joined the European Crowdfunding Network (ECN). Smartlands will look to leverage the partnership to advocate for new methods of crowdfunding across Europe.
Smartlands Joining the European Crowdfunding Network Explained
The ECN works closely with the European Commission and its corresponding regulations to advocate for online capital formation and various areas of Fintech.
Smartlands is a security token platform in the UK. The company leverages its stake in Shojin Property Partners to offer compliant Security Token Offerings (STOs) through a license issued by the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
The platform is powered by the Stellar blockchain.
In early-June 2019, Smartlands participated in an ECN CrowdCamp which took place in Berlin. As a result of the interaction and continued discussion, Smartlands is now an official member of the ECN.
Smartlands says the new partnership will hopefully lead to the further growth of emerging technology utilized in crowdfunding throughout Europe.
ECN Executive Director Oliver Gajda believes the future of finance will feature lower costs and reduced risks for investors. Gajda says,
“Blockchain and DLT solutions will play a key role in making the sector more robust and susceptible to innovations. We are looking forward to expanding our network to include leading blockchain actors, such as Smartlands, in our work to develop a viable roadmap for the adaption of blockchain technologies by the alternative finance industry.”
Arnoldas Nauseda, the CEO of Smartlands, also commented on the partnership:

Smartlands has a live security token offering currently underway, featuring a newly built student housing complex located in Nottingham, UK.
